Founded in the Netherlands, Freenom is the world's first supplier of free domain services and has gained popularity around the globe, particularly in the USA, Europe, Russia, and China. In the context of domain registration, it represents affordability and innovation.
You might have a lot of hassles, but if you finally know how to do it, you'll just have free domains. Note that you just have to switch to a dns provider that is less slow.
i transfer domain to freenom since 2017. and last year 5 domains was transfer away from my account. they take my domain! please beware, dont use register domain from freenom. price more cheaper but too dangerous.
I've never experienced something as horrible as freenom's service in my 15 years of experience as a developer. It's simply the most horrible provider: my three domains suddenly stopped working, so I sent a lot of tickets. They said: "the domain is working fine on our end, it must be something you did". Time and time again they said the same until finally, they said that my domain had violated the terms and conditions and that they wouldn't restore my account.
So my advice for you is: never ever use them for anything that you intend to actually use. I'd say, use the free domain if you really have to, but never ever purchase a domain from them or think they can be used in production. They might just cancel your products and someone called "René Broekhuis", who is the only one answering tickets, will simply make you waste your time. No ethics, no good service, just the worst of all registrars.
Stay away from them and do not let them lure you into registering a free domain —you will regret it.
They provides free domain. When you get more traffic on your website or someone else ready to pay for that domain, they will tag your site as fraud and remove your domain without any notice and asks to pay in order to reinstate that domain. At that time you may not have another option and have to pay what they asks to get it back. And support executive behave very rude to their customers.
once I thought it was nice to have a free domain name especially when doing tests on a new website and then we convince ourselves 'why not buy a regular domain name since we are there, ? it's a disaster! you buy a domain name and everything that was fabulous becomes a real nightmare do not try to call customer service there is none and the so-called René whose name I will keep hidden is also a rude character who forgets a little quickly that it is the customers who him make live
the Dutch have the reputation of being serious, in short, to be avoided and I cannot recommend too much to all the states which have signed agreements with this company to cancel them as well as the ICANN
I registered a domain but was not able to renew it and they told me to transfer it if I could. I told them I wanted to transfer but they never replied. Imagine wanting to renew but they can not accept funds before the domain even expires. I can not even purchase a new domain as of April 13, 2021. They have gone out of business, my biggest guess
We had a problem registering .net domain. We then reported it and wanted a refund. They returned it but suspended all of our existing domains for fraud. We are a game hosting provider. All my customers have been victimized. They said they couldn't activate the domains back. They financially damaged the business. There is no such business partner! We will now work with a more professional company.
Wouldn't use them again, took 3 months to move registrar to someone else
Do not use Freenom as your registrar if you can help it. Their support is terrible, took 3 months before I could even talk to anyone. I emailed every freenom.com email I could find to one person actually replied and was able to help me move registrar to another registrar. I even rang their telephone number 7 times over the course of 3 weeks, no one had rang me back yet. Its been 2 weeks since I last rang them as well.
If you are looking to move your .tk away from Freenom, you need to email registrar @ (their freenom domain) asking them your trying to move you domain, and they'll eventually email you back with a strategy which basically means they'll cancel your domain early, so you can register the domain again with your new registrar. Then they shall update the expiry date back to what it was +1 year as they own the main tld database. This does reset the registration date of the domain, but that doesn't matter too much. Using their EPP auth code doesn't work, no idea why it gives you the option, they even confirmed in an email that EPP code doesn't work for transfering the domain and this is the only way.
Hopefully someone else will find this review handy, as I couldn't find anything on how to move registrar online with Freenom.
Freenom is a company that mainly focuses on providing free or low-cost domains. However, the company included one Reseller Hosting plan for the most affordable price I’ve seen (a deposit of $10), but they don’t pay much attention to it.
