So today it's email. Again. An outage. Complete. No warning. Two-plus hours now. No news on their homepage. First call... 19 minutes to pick-up, 27th in the queue at start. Dropped out. Second call... 23 minutes to pick up, 43rd in the queue. An agent who didn't know that the Philippines and AEDT were three hours different. Not his fault. Their fault. No news on fault... fixed 'sometime 'today'. I've had recurrent trouble with Netregistry email... generally and with webmail especially. Their call centre staff are extremely polite but poorly trained... they literally do not know what is going on, how to diagnose a problem, how to fix. Inertia is a really strong force... especially in the SME sector. Banking, I.T. But really... I've got a guy working on the change. Gmail... here we come. I run another business on Gmail... never a problem. Ever.
Netregistry is by far the worst company I have dealt with in my career.
They store customer credit card information on their site without permission and then automatically create unauthorised transactions without the knowledge of the users.
When confronted, they will either refuse to refund the money or they will stipulate that their fraudulent charges are your own fault as you used their service in the past.
I will never recommend netregistry to anyone who has a serious business. They are unhelpful, rude and patronising.
From the start of our businesses web package there were issues. No follow up emails or phone calls to get the website building underway. Wasn't until I made the call and then a week later got a response. Then every 3 to 6 months had to reload and change the details for the email (nothing was updated my end to cause this). Then at the end of the contract when I tried to get the website moved over to a new host it was very difficult. Many phone calls and emails. In the end I threatened to take it further as in the contract it stated I owned the website and magically it was able to be moved over. Pricing is extremely ridicolous and I wished I had of done some more research first before being sold this by the pushy salesman on the phone. That was my bad.
I have been with Netrgistry for some time but will be moving to another provider very soon. The level of customer service has become steadily worse over the past twelve months and many of the staff who are on the support line simply don't have enough knowledege to be able to assist with problems. When this occurs it is sent to a "ticket" and once that happens you can say goodbye to any further contact from them...the response is usually non-existent or takes days and days. And when it does happen, it is almost always about what they don't or can't do rather than what they can do. I am looking forward to moving to a new host who doesn't take its customers for granted.
They have great hosting for all their customers. I use just the lowest price option because that is all I need but if the rest of their services are as good, you will be happy.
This company really has a lot of choices to pick from, which is great. For me, it got a little confusing because I wanted the best hosting for my site, but didn't want to over pay. they ended up helping me pick one of their VPS packages that is a good price but great service. I am very happy with this company and think they can meet the needs of anyone in Australia.
