So.. I have used one.com for many many years... I've recruited a lot of customers for them and I moved a lot of services over to them throughout the years. Years back ago service was amazing!!! (hence their growth). But now?!?!?! Oh oh oh ... Now when I ask for pretty basic help (I am not a pro, I would never apply for a Support job for this kind of service, but I've used several over the years and I am familiar with the terms and tech) it takes FOREVER and the support seems at times to just DON'T understand english. I've spent hours on really basic things, so this has to change. Other than that I think it looks good, user friendly, and provides a lot of nice features. I just wish the people I met at support years ago was still there.
One.com has to be the most unfriendly and money hungry hosting site around. at the end of your contract, If at all, they send you an invoice 3 month before the renewal date and demand that you renew around 1 month or so before your contract is up and in most cases, they do not send an invoice at all just to charge you a "late payment fee". The reliability of service is average at best and their webmail client has the habit of disconnecting every few hours. After the first year, they charge you whatever they want and as it is customary with all money junky companies, they always have an excuse for squeezing you off your money. if you plan to use the service only for a year and you don't mind an occasional frustration due to a bad service and rude customer support and lack of a telephone umber to actully talk to someone then it is not all that bad but if you plan to use a hoting company for longer then a year, you can always find a much better service in a minute or so by searching Google.
I strongly advise you not to use One.com because - They do not allow you to cancel it - They automatically renew it for one year despite several attempts to cancel it - They charge you for this - Then they send in the debt collector who harrasses you via emails and mobile phone calls.
Oh God. Its not just me. Reading all these comments and all of them suffered due to their auto renewal policy and not allowing them to cancel. Each and every person here. One.com have no idea that how business they are losing due to their shity policies looking for short term profit.
A con of a company. DO NOT USE ANY OF THEIR SERVICES. They are based in Dubai, they screw you and you can't protect yourself. Do NOT use them at any price. You have been warned! Make a complaint to ICANN at the following:
I have been with many hosting providers over the years. I find this hosting provider to be a bit of fresh air so to say. The straightforward simple approach may seem very basic but it is very user friendly for both the novice and the professional. I have neer seen a website maker so easy to use. A true wysiwyg approach is how I discribe their website builder. No problems whatsoever have I seen,
BE CAREFUL! These guys will screw you given half a chance. They refused to acknowledge my cancellation until after the payment date so they could extorting money. Now they are trying to charge late fees on a notice they never sent to EXTORT MORE MONEY!
Your view is incorrect; it does not put the client's needs first. They have not allowed me to cancel their service at the end of the year; they automatically renewed it after I had told them to cancel it. They have charged me for this and harrassed me with a debt collector despite several attempts to cancel it. They have charged me for another year!
